Angels will be the new vampires!

From the most popular love story of Edward Cullen and Bella Swan comes another young-adult love story that will surely capture the heart of the readers. The Fallen Novels by Lauren Kate is a four-installment, page turning series about the love story of Lucinda Price and the angel Daniel Grigori. Lauren Kate has brought a new twist to the usual love story that we have all been reading from romance books. What would you do if you fall in love with an angel? What will you do if you found out that falling in love can be as dangerous as dying? The story of Daniel and Luce will conquer all and even death can’t stop them.

The four books of the Fallen Novels are: Fallen,Torment, Passion and Rapture (unreleased). I’ve already read the first three books and I’ve really fallen for these Fallen Novels and I can’t wait for the fourth book to be released! The story of the series revolves around Lucinda Price and how she fell in love with the fallen angel Daniel Grigori. Lucinda fell in love with Daniel when she first saw him until eventually she found out that the aloof and mysterious Daniel Grigori is a fallen angel.

Eventually, Lucinda discovered that Daniel and she had an extraordinary past. She learned that their love was cursed and Lucinda had to die and reincarnate every seventeen years. But, will it stop her to fall in love with him even if it kills her?

Read my following blogs to know more about how Lucinda and Daniel overcome the curse and how they conquer the punishment of heaven and hell just to be with each other.

Why I Chose A Career in Computer Science?

A nursing graduate will have a nursing career when he graduates; an engineering graduate will be an engineer; an accountancy graduate will be an accountant; but being a ComSci graduate, will take you to a lot of opportunities you can ever imagine. You can be a Programmer, Database Administrator, Web Developer, System Developer, Computer Analyst, Technical Support Engineer, Process Engineer, IT Consultant and many more to be mentioned.

With all of the opportunities that CS can offer and  the vast evolution of technology in the modern civilization, it is not very hard to look for a career for a Computer Science graduates and that is one of the reasons why I chose to pursue my degree in Computer Science (CS).

As I clearly remembered what my computer teacher back in High School said, he told us that technology will never be obsolete as long as man exists in the world; it never goes out of fashion and it keeps developing and improving as time goes by. Truly, I believed what my teacher told us and it gave me the motivation of pursuing college with a BSCS degree.

Aside from the many opportunities that CS offers, it was also fun learning the lessons. There’s so much more to learn even after the four years in college because of its very broad scope and that’s what makes it thrilling. I truly enjoyed learning how to develop systems, how to make games and how to develop different computer applications. It was also fun working out our group projects because aside from learning a lot technically, I also learned how to be emotionally productive in terms of leadership and camaraderie among my members.

Computer Science is not an easy course to take and I have proven it during my stay in college. It was unimaginably hard for I didn’t expect it to be that complicated. It required a lot of mathematical and logical skills to survive the course. But of course, I had to get used to it and work hard to pass the subjects and fortunately, I was able to finish the four difficult years in Computer Science.

Now, as I go back to my experiences in college, I would tell myself that it was a bittersweet success. Through all the hardships that I’ve gone through, it was still fulfilling to be able to learn and finish that chapter of my life. And now, I’m ready to face the new chapter and I know that I can make it through whatever obstacles I may encounter on the way.

Simply Wella

Wella S. Añonuevo

My dad said that my name “Wella” is after the shampoo brand Wella. How funny that my dad had to be the one to give me name and named me after a woman’s shampoo brand. When I was young, I used to hate my name but then, I lived with it all throughout my 20 years of existence and I started loving the name given to me—simple yet unique. And, that’s how I describe myself.

Based from a few researches that I’ve made, it turned out that my name also has a literal meaning and that is “stream”. A stream is a body of water flowing in a channel or watercourse, as a river, rivulet, or brook. Well, I can relate this to my interests and dreams in life. Just like the steady current of the stream water, I want to have a steady and stable job in the future. I want to practice my skills being a Computer Science graduate and also I want to pursue my interest in writing. I love to read books ever since and I guess that’s what made me aspire to be a writer. When I was in High School, I really wanted to enhance and excel in journalism but when I had to enter college, I decided to take up BSCS and turn down my passion because compared to journalism; there are more opportunities that my course can offer. But, I also started to love my course during my 2nd year because it really amazed me of how broad the industry of IT is and the wide pool of opportunities that await the graduates. I’ve always dreamed of combining Com Sci and writing and if I have that opportunity, I will never let go of it.

So, I guess names really have significance in how we live our life and like a stream, I want to reach my ocean and those are my goals in life. I know that achieving these goals can be as hard as swimming through the waves of the water but I will never lose hope until I reach the shore where my dreams await me no matter what it takes. :)
